A man who had spent his life devoted to supporting his family
was told he had only a few weeks to live. He feared his family
would soon be in trouble without his financial assistance.
He prayed "Please God, let me win the lottery to help my family.
" Day after day, he prayed but nothing came of it.
Finally he was near death, "Why, God, did you not help me?"
There was silence for awhile. Then a great voice from above slowly replied,
"To win the lottery, you must first buy a ticket."
